AIR WORKS - Art for one day.

Stone and wood have traditionally been the principal materials of sculpture. Later metal, ceramics and glass become part of the sculptor's arsenal. Today in the age of the expanded notion of art we find all materials and non-materials assembled in art again. But what about air?

BOREALIS, leading provider of innovative, value creating plastics solutions with more than 40 years of experience in polyolefins, has now commissioned 17 renowned Austrian artists to create sculptures for just one day - consisting of air and held in shape by a plastic membrane regarding its mission "Shaping the Future with Plastics". These inflatables are shown during the OMV Linz Marathon 2009.

In 2011 the AIR WORKS were exhibited in MuseumsQuartier in Vienna.
