LokoMotiveErwin Wurms piece is geared at redefining the notion of sculpture. He is primarily interested in the aspect of the membrane or of the shell or the clothing and the theme of change and deformation of bodies to the point of grotesquerie and also to abstraction and sculpture. Five torsos, differentiated by means of bright colors and covered with pieces of clothing, point explicitly to optimistic female messages of the textile and fashion sector. Only a second glance are only anthropomorphic, ambiguous bodies with a strong expressive aspect to be seen - creating a contrast to the first, more superficial message.
